Two studies have investigated the effect of thyroid antibodies on pregnancy outcome in future pregnancy in euthyroid women with recurrent pregnancy loss (Figure 3). Pratt et al. reported that in the women who had yet another miscarriage the prevalence of thyroidantibodies was significantly higher than in women who carried to term.22 However, Rushworth et al. found that the future risk for pregnancy loss in women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage was not affected by the presence of thyroid antibodies.23
